Recovering from triple motor vehicle accidents in less than two years, to a cancer diagnosis, to Celiacs Disease, and the cutting-edge, robotic surgery that allowed Judy to keep her kidney and become cancer-free.
On the morning in March 2023, Judy walked into the big Operating Room that had a dozen personal hustling and bustling around a robot. They were all there for her; for her renal carcinoma. The surgeon was determined to save her kidney by repairing it after the removal of the cancer. He was successful where most surgeons would have not saved the kidney. After the surgery, Judy struggled with the debilitating effects of the pain medicine that Judy was given, which she learned she was allergic to. Despite that, the next evening, Judy walked out of the hosptial to continue her recovery at home. With traditional surgery she would not have been able to leave the hospital. a day after major surgery. She had six, small incision wounds, with a total of 18 staples that would need to be removed by community home care medical professionals. A month later, the pathologist reported that Judy was cancer-free. Unfortunately, she was about to receive anothe diagnosis that would change her life.
